CURB INSTALL PROCESS

After the mixing process, the concrete is then transported to the machine in a wheelbarrow, where it is shoveled in to the machine, and extruded in the shape of your choice. It is then hand troweled, to a broom like protective finish, at which control joints are cut every 4 feet or so.

After a visual inspection of the area where the curb is to be installed, we then create a path the width of a square shovel, for which the curb machine will follow. We will level the area by cutting down the high spots, and then use that dirt to fill in any areas that might be low.

Home Depot is a great place to find a can of paint, 2 x 4's, or maybe a new sink for your kitchen. Not skilled cement tenders. And for this reason we do not use day laborers. Like i mentioned before, our mix is a precision mix and must be 100% perfect and consistent, from batch to batch. This is the only way to insure a quality, crack resistant, curb that will last a life time.

Next, the area is given a shower of water. This helps us identify any low areas, by the pool of water in which they will create. Also the precision mix we use, is a zero slump mix. Which means if you were to put the mix in a bucket, and then flip the bucket upside down, leaving the mix to stand alone by itself, and came back in a half hour or so, you would still be able to fit the bucket over the now semi-hard cured concrete mix. To make a long story short, basically it is a very dry mix. The more moisture, not mud, in the ground , the better.
